Each bodice, skirt, sleeve and collar carries its own tag values, and they go onto the dress in full, before a single metre of fabric: an Apron Bodice is Workwear +25 whatever you cut it from. Pick the tag a card asks for and the 155 patterns you can unlock line up from the most to the least. Minus values count too, so the table also shows which piece is holding a tag down.

The best shape for each tag

The highest each tag can go from the pieces alone, over the dresses the Sketchbook lets you put together, and the same from the patterns you own on day one. Fabric and accessories go on top of this.

Leaving the sleeves off is a piece too: it adds Cool +10 and Simple +10, and leaving the collar off adds Cool +5 and Simple +5. Empire Waist Princess and Empire Princess Skirt have pieces in the files but are on no unlock list, so this page leaves them out. Where the day-one number is far below the full one, the tag is one to grow into: the missing pieces come from client friendships, listed on pattern unlocks. Tag names link to the fabrics that carry the same tag.

Pieces that pull a tag down

75 of the 155 patterns take something away. When a tag sits a few points short and the fabric is right, look at the pieces first: a skirt at −10 cancels a lot of cloth. The other fixes are on a tag that will not go up.

Gothic Collar unlocked, but missing?

Gothic Collar unlocks at Vivian’s friendship star 4. It needs a V-neck bodice: unlocking it does not make it appear with every dress shape. These 5 obtainable bodices pass the Sketchbook’s neckline and exclusion checks.

Pick one of these bodices, clear any tag filter, then check the collar step again. If it is still missing after the friendship reward, keep that save and report the missing reward; changing the bodice checks compatibility but cannot restore a reward that was not granted. For other rewards, use the pattern unlock list.

Which pieces go together

The Sketchbook greys out pieces that do not fit the bodice you picked. These are its rules.

• Collars follow the neckline

  A collar is offered only when it is cut for the bodice’s neckline (round, V-neck or detached). 25 bodices have no neckline for a collar at all, so for those the collar step is skipped, and the fabric’s tag weighting is shared among the other parts instead.

• 10 bodices have no sleeves of their own

  Aurora Bodice, Bustier Bodice, Halter Neck Bodice, Kimono Bodice, Off-Shoulder Begonia Bodice, Ruched Sweetheart Bodice, Straight Begonia Bodice, Strapless Bodice, Twilight Hour Bodice and Viper Bodice take only the 5 detached sleeves: Angel Sleeve, Angel's Trumpet Sleeve, Arwen Sleeve, Gabriel Sleeve and Pleated Drop Sleeve.

• 10 bodices rule out a few pieces

  Aurora Bodice: Gabriel Sleeve and Pleated Drop Sleeve. Belladonna Bodice: Flutter Sleeve, Mutton Sleeve, Juliette-Bishop Sleeve, Fae Sleeve, Hecate Sleeve and Short Puffed Sleeve. Coat Dress Bodice: Gabriel Sleeve. Delilah Bodice: Dagger Collar. Elevated Princess V Bodice: Dagger Collar. Flared Begonia Bodice: Mutton Sleeve, Fae Sleeve, Juliette-Bishop Sleeve, Short Puffed Sleeve and Juliette Sleeve. Jacket Bodice: Mutton Sleeve. Kimono Bodice: Angel Sleeve, Pleated Drop Sleeve, Arwen Sleeve, Gabriel Sleeve and Angel's Trumpet Sleeve. Off-Shoulder Begonia Bodice: Gabriel Sleeve, Angel Sleeve and Pleated Drop Sleeve. Straight Begonia Bodice: Gabriel Sleeve and Arwen Sleeve.

Pieces to cut

For a practical mixed-fabric layout, use the Puffy Gathered Tiered Skirt cutting map: four tiers plus the waist. Count the waist pieces too before looking for Finish Dress.

The Pieces column is how many panels the pattern’s first version has, each one cut and sewn on its own. They run from 1 (Dagger Collar) to 48 (Ruffle Skirt). Fewer panels means less to cut and sew for the same tags, which helps when a card also asks for high Quality. How much of the dress each panel is, for rules like Sequin: at least 10%, is explained under style tags and requirement rules.
