Dorothy Parker and her pigeons

Dorothy’s first dress is an audition for her pigeon, and once he adopts you, extra commissions start arriving by mail and some visits arrive in the order you choose.

Who Dorothy is

“My name is Dorothy Parker, and this is Judith, Montgomery, and Egbert.” They are birds: “No, Judy, Monty, and Berty are my dear friends...and the finest pigeons in the county.” “They're also incorrigible gossips”, and so is she. When she collects her dress she asks whether you have heard that Princess Sophie is missing.

Dorothy’s commissions

  1. “Egbert is actually the reason I am here. He is considering whether to adopt you.” The dress is his test. She wants it warm and eclectic, and “I find that many of my feathered friends appreciate a bit of sparkle - so if you could include a jewel or two, that would be grand.” The card makes that a rule: at least one jewel and one brooch. When it is done: “Fabulous! Berty has decided to go ahead with your adoption! He will accompany you from now on.”

What pigeon mail changes

Dorothy explains the mail system while Berty makes up his mind. The extra commissions he brings are optional, and: “Anyway, these extra tasks wouldn't expire, although I imagine customers could occasionally become temporarily unavailable for personal reasons.” So a mail request can wait while you finish story cards.

Berty also carries a visiting card: the game asks you to pick its recipient from two clients, and that client comes next. The two on offer are Marie and Rose.

Delivering Pigeon Adoption earns You’ve Got Mail, and the mail commissions count toward Birds of a Feather, Frock Together. Both are on all 32 achievements with their unlock rates.
