Alice is gothic in every card, and she does not come alone. Two spirits talk over her, and each of them later asks for a dress of its own.

Who Alice is
Her first visit is interrupted by a voice in capitals promising the end of days. Alice apologises for it: “That is merely Kroq - you need not heed him. He inevitably grows excitable in new company.” A second spirit defends her, and Alice introduces that one too: “Selafie the Virtuous. She possesses moderately better manners.”
Asked about friends, Alice says “Oh no, I rather lack friends. It is difficult for me to form relationships, you see — people are often frightened of me.” The gossip paper after the Sporting Day gives her surname, Wren, and says she came last in excellent style.
Alice’s commissions
“My studies have met a dead end, and I must profess that I am frustrated. A new dress might revive my spirits.” She corrects herself: “That is, my scholarly motivations. My other spirits...do not require additional stimulation.” The brief, “Please would you make me a garment that is gothic and romantic? It should feature elements of lace.”, becomes Use 100cm of Lace Trim on the card, a goal that trips players up: why lace trim stays short.
